Beach to Beacon 10K

The Beach to Beacon 10K was founded by 1984 Olympic Marathon Gold Medalist and Cape Elizabeth native Joan Benoit Samuelson. Runners of all abilities, from throughout New England and across the nation, will join many of the top runners in the world at the starting line in Cape Elizabeth for the 21st running of the TD Beach to Beacon 10K on August 4, 2018.

The course begins near Crescent Beach State Park in Cape Elizabeth and winds along tree-lined roads and past dramatic ocean vistas before ending 6.2 miles later in Fort Williams next to Portland Head Light, the nation’s first commissioned lighthouse and also the most photographed lighthouse in America. The TD Beach to Beacon 10K attracts almost 6,500 runners, making it the largest road race in the Pine Tree State, who are cheered by thousands of spectators lining the course and assisted by 800+ volunteers. Held along the stunning Maine coastline on the first Saturday of every August, the event promotes and celebrates health, fitness and giving back.

2018 Portland SchoonerFest and Regatta kicks off the 2018 summer sailing season June 22-24 featuring 5 to 7 large, traditional schooners racing and parading under sail together in Portland Harbor.

Portland's own spring regatta for traditional sail, Portland SchoonerFest and Regatta kicks off the summer sailing season the last weekend of June featuring 5 to 7 large, traditional schooners racing and parading under sail together in Portland Harbor with passengers participating onboard and ashore in the spectacular and historic second regatta. The 2018 event will feature several of the most famous schooners in the country including Gloucester's Schooner Adventure, the 131' Harvey Gamage of Portland, and Bailey Island's Schooner Alert. These classics are racing against hometown favorites Bagheera and Wendameen. And new in 2018 will be the first race for Marine Maritime Museum's legendary Schooner Mary E. which is under restoration at the museum in Bath and ready in time to participate in this event. The festival and regatta was a memorable event for those able to sail in 2017 and we expect another successful event in 2018. Tickets are on sale

Beach to Beacon 10K

The Beach to Beacon 10K was founded by 1984 Olympic Marathon Gold Medalist and Cape Elizabeth native Joan Benoit Samuelson. Runners of all abilities, from throughout New England and across the nation, will join many of the top runners in the world at the starting line in Cape Elizabeth for the 21st running of the TD Beach to Beacon 10K on August 4, 2018.

The course begins near Crescent Beach State Park in Cape Elizabeth and winds along tree-lined roads and past dramatic ocean vistas before ending 6.2 miles later in Fort Williams next to Portland Head Light, the nation’s first commissioned lighthouse and also the most photographed lighthouse in America. The TD Beach to Beacon 10K attracts almost 6,500 runners, making it the largest road race in the Pine Tree State, who are cheered by thousands of spectators lining the course and assisted by 800+ volunteers. Held along the stunning Maine coastline on the first Saturday of every August, the event promotes and celebrates health, fitness and giving back.

The MCA presents the fourth annual Portland Fine Craft Show on August 25, 2018, 9am – 4pm on Congress Street between High and State Streets, in Portland, Maine. The show is free and open to the public.

The Portland Fine Craft Show features over 100 juried exhibitors from Maine and New England exhibiting fine craft in the following media categories: baskets, ceramics, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, stone and wood, as well as outreach booth exhibiting the work of international artists new to Maine, booths featuring New England arts organizations, schools and guilds by special invitation, live music and food trucks in Longfellow Square.
